JAM REGATTA
August 2-3, 2025

JAM is PMYC's annual Johnny Adams Memorial Youth Regatta which is also part of the NW Youth Racing Circuit summer series. Every August (1st or 2nd weekend depending on tides), approximately 175 youth sailors, their coaches, and parents come to PMYC for a weekend of well-run fleet races and warm hospitality.

Many say JAM is their favorite youth regatta and the ideal first Opti regatta for new racers! Highlights include 35+ club volunteers having a blast together helping on and off the water; our famous JAMmies (plaid PJ pants worn year-round); JAM playlist (song requests via online registration form); Opti green fleet for beginner racers in Hidden Cove; champ course in outer Pt. Madison for Optis, Lasers/ILCA 4/6/7, and C420s; morning JAMcakes Jr. fundraiser (new in 2024!); Saturday dinner tradition of home-baked potatoes, chili bar, salad, and ice cream cones; and fleece blanket awards in PMYC colors with club logo.

Please register by Tuesday, July 29, to avoid the $20 late fee and to help us with planning. To register and review the NOR, go to: https://theclubspot.com/regatta/zXLFuZD4Jn/#notice-board

For your own planning, please read the NOR and pay particular attention to sections 11 and 12 regarding parking, boat launching, and boat/trailer storage; the tide will be too low to launch motorboats Saturday morning in Pt. Madison.

Sailors should pick up their JAMmies (XXS-XL) right after checking in on the clubhouse deck; after sailors have all claimed theirs, extra JAMmies can be purchased for $30 on Sunday (checks to PMYC). Wifi log-ins will be posted on the bulletin boards and a small Starlink will be dedicated to registration updates and scoring (YAY!) to avoid delays.

Please contact the JAM Coordinator at jam@portmadisonyc.org by mid-July if you'd like to help with housing, registration/scoring, clubhouse hosting, markset/safety boat, RC, green fleet, dock coordination and minor repair assistance, baked potato baking, posting our already-made signs, or parking (Friday late afternoon, Saturday morning, and Sunday afternoon).

We have key people in place but would appreciate your help and enjoy your company if you have time and interest in being part of the JAM hosting team. Please add your name to any time slots and tasks that you can do on the JAM SignUp Genius which is shore-based (many needs!). If you'd like to help on the water with the races, please contact the JAM Coordinator at jam@portmadisonyc.org.

Dock space for dinghies and in-water slips are needed for our many visitors, so please let the JAM Coordinator know if your space will/can be vacant. Thank you very much for your support and involvement!
